Join award-winning broadcaster Pam Lundell for her next hosted tour with Gateway, as she leads a memorable spring getaway to Savannah and Charleston. This thoughtfully curated experience combines historic landmarks, beautiful Lowcountry scenery, Southern cuisine, and charming coastal towns.
Explore Savannah’s historic squares, moss-draped live oaks, and scenic coastline before continuing to Charleston, where you’ll discover iconic landmarks, historic plantations, Fort Sumter, Angel Oak, and the Charleston Tea Garden. With guided sightseeing, unique local experiences, and plenty of time to explore at your own pace, this tour offers a wonderful taste of Southern charm.
Pam brings over 30 years of Twin Cities radio experience across a variety of formats, including Smooth Jazz, Country, Big Band, Top 40, and Christian. A Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee and in-demand voiceover artist, she is known for her warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine connection with her audience. Pam has led many memorable trips over the years and is excited to share this special adventure with you!

Day One – Welcome to Savannah
Minneapolis → Savannah • River District • Welcome Dinner
Begin your Southern adventure as you arrive in Savannah and settle into your hotel in the historic River District. Enjoy the afternoon at your own pace, with Savannah’s charming streets, shops, and waterfront right outside your hotel.
Gather with your group this evening for a welcome dinner to kick off your Savannah and Charleston getaway.
Day Two – Savannah’s Historic Charm
Trolley Tour • Bonaventure Cemetery • Wormsloe Historic Site
Discover the beauty and history of Savannah on a guided trolley tour through the city’s historic squares and neighborhoods. See landmarks including Forsyth Park, River Street, City Market, and the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
Stroll beneath Savannah’s iconic live oaks at Bonaventure Cemetery before exploring the breathtaking avenue of oaks at Wormsloe Historic Site.
Day Three – Sea, Sun, & Southern Fun
Tybee Island • Dolphin Cruise • Southern Cooking Class
Spend the day along the scenic Georgia coast with a visit to Tybee Island and its historic lighthouse. Then take to the water for a memorable dolphin-watching cruise through the marshes and waterways surrounding the island.
Finish the day with a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn the flavors and traditions of Southern cuisine before enjoying the meal you helped create.
Day Four – Savannah to Charleston
Savannah → Beaufort → Charleston • Historic Charleston Tour
Depart Savannah and travel toward Charleston with a stop in the charming coastal town of Beaufort. Stroll along the waterfront and through its beautifully preserved historic district before continuing to Charleston.
Upon arrival, explore the city on a guided tour featuring iconic landmarks including The Battery, Rainbow Row, King Street, and City Market.
Day Five – History, Harbor, & Heritage
Fort Sumter • Boone Hall Plantation • Gullah Luncheon
Cruise through Charleston Harbor to Fort Sumter and learn about the events that marked the beginning of the Civil War. Enjoy a farm-to-table Gullah luncheon before exploring Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens, one of Charleston’s iconic landmarks.
The evening is yours to explore Charleston at your own pace.
Day Six – A Taste of Charleston
Angel Oak • Charleston Tea Garden • Deep Water Vineyard
Discover some of the Lowcountry’s most unique treasures, beginning with a visit to the magnificent Angel Oak. Continue to the Charleston Tea Garden for a trolley ride through the tea fields, a look inside the tea factory, and a refreshing sample.
Visit Deep Water Vineyard on Wadmalaw Island before returning to Charleston for a free afternoon to shop, explore, or simply relax. Gather with your group for a farewell dinner this evening.
Day Seven – Farewell, Charleston
Charleston → Minneapolis
Enjoy breakfast before checking out and traveling to Charleston International Airport for your return flight home.
